Blue blue blue, all my berries are blue – our dried blueberries are as delicious as they look! They taste aromatically sweet and lightly sour. In addition, they are a real superfood: the little berries are full of fibre.

Dried blueberries at any time of the year

In the warmer months of the year, supermarket shelves are filled with fresh blueberries. In Germany, they are harvested from June to September. However, fresh blueberries must be eaten quickly. They can only be kept in the fridge for a few days.

WiWe bring dried blueberries to your doorstep all year round. Our dried blueberries can be kept for up to 18 months. So you can sip blueberry smoothies and add them to your muffins at any time.

Dried blueberries complement your breakfast with their sweetness and light sour flavour. If you like our dried raspberries, you won't be able to get enough of our dried blueberries. Or mix it in with some coconut chips, rolled oats and almonds for a tasty and crunchy muesli mix!

Insider tip: The dried blueberries infused with water are a great refreshing drink. But they are also a treat on their own as a snack or stirred into yoghurt.

Als Blaubeere hat man es schon ziemlich leicht im Leben, die kleinen Beeren schmecken fast allen Menschen. Wir bei KoRo sind aber auf der Suche nach den Popstars unter den Beeren, der Crème de la Crème des Beerenobsts. Dafür probieren wir uns selbstlos durch das Beeren-Sortiment, um die besten Blaubeeren für Dich zu finden. Übrigens ist es egal, ob Du Blaubeeren oder Heidelbeeren kaufst: Es sind nur zwei verschiedene Namen für die gleiche Beere.

Hier ist immer Erntesaison

Hast du vielleicht schon mal beim Spaziergang gesehen: Blaubeeren wachsen an Sträuchern, die bis zu 2,5 Metern hoch werden können. Um sie wirtschaftlich anbauen zu können, sollte es aber schon ein anderes Klima als in Deutschland sein. Unsere Blaubeeren stammen aus dem Norden Perus, wo die Sträucher schon nach 12 statt wie üblich nach 36 Monaten Beeren tragen.

Wo es den Heidelbeeren so gut gefällt

Das Klima ist prima – zumindest für die Blaubeeren. Deshalb können sie auch das ganze Jahr über geerntet werden. Weil die kleinen Beeren so empfindlich sind, muss das noch ganz altmodisch per Hand passieren.

Nicht so sonnig wie in Peru, dafür aber in guter Gesellschaft

Gepflückt, sortiert, getrocknet und verpackt geht es für die Blaubeeren Richtung Berlin. In unserem Lager können sie dann eine entspannte, aber meistens kurze Zeit warten, bis Deine nächste Bestellung bei uns eintrifft. Denn dann werden sie so schnell wie möglich auf ihre Reise zu Dir geschickt.

Do blueberries have seeds inside?

Culture blueberries are characterized by their light flesh and few, brownish seeds. This is the variety of blueberries that we know from the weekly market we trust. Our dried blueberries are also cultivated blueberries. The much more acidic wild blueberries, on the other hand, contain a large number of seeds. The flesh of these wild blueberries is also dark in color. Already knew? When you eat wild blueberries, your tongue turns blue, like that of giraffes!

What can I use the dried blueberries for?

The best thing about our dried blueberries: You can use them for basically all recipes where you would normally use fresh blueberries. To turn the dried blueberries into juicy berries, you can soak them in a little water for a few minutes. Our absolute favorite recipe: Blueberry Muffins! But such a New York Cheesecake with blueberries goes of course also always.

What is the shelf life of blueberries?

Our blueberries have a shelf life of at least 15 months after their production. You can find the exact best before date on your packaging.

Can my dog eat the blueberries without added sugar?

Sure, in moderation your four-legged friend may also snack on blueberries. If you have any questions about it, we recommend that you seek advise from your veterinarian.

Can I eat the blueberries during pregnancy?

For sure! To be sure whether and how much blueberries are suitable for your situation, talk to your doctor.

Can my baby eat the blueberries?

Blueberries are quite small berries, so we recommend you cut the dried blueberries into small pieces to prevent a possible risk of ingestion by your baby. Of course, you can also soak our blueberries in a little water and then puree them into a baby-friendly porridge.

When is blueberry season?

We love blueberries! Unfortunately, the blueberry season and harvest time at home is only from June to September - and thus simply much too short. But so that we can enjoy them all year round, we have dried the blueberry (or blueberries, as they are also called) for you.

What is the best way to store blueberries?

We recommend you to store your dried blueberries in a dark, cool and light-protected place.

Is there a difference between blueberries and blueberries?

No, blueberries and bilberries mean the same berry. Only regionally different names are used. The blue berries have other names besides these two common terms: Thus they are called in Bavaria also blackberries, in South Germany hayberries and in North Germany Bickbeeren - who would have thought that?!

Do the blueberries have a lot of fiber?

YES! Our blueberries have a high fiber content (9 g/100 g).

Do KoRo blueberries come without added sugar?

Clearly, blueberries have a certain fructose content by nature and therefore convince with fruity-sweet to mildly sour taste. That's why we deliberately do without further added sugar!
